Recently, Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, investigated SenseTime's Artificial Intelligence Data Center (AIDC) located in the Lin-gang Special Area to gain an in-depth understanding of the company's new progress in innovation and R&D.

Taking the AIDC as a starting point, Xu Li, Co-founder and CEO of SenseTime, described the current situation and future of the AI era to Mayor Gong Zheng, focusing on the chip industry and how the AIDC can effectively help the academic and industrial partners to comprehensively improve the productivity of AI and boost the development of the industry.

Mayor Gong Zheng pointed out that it is necessary to further strengthen the leading function of high-end industries and give full play to the pioneering role of technical and industrial innovation.

SenseTime's AIDC is one of the largest AI data centers in Asia, with a designed peak computing power of more than 3740 petaFLOPS (1 petaFLOP is equal to 1 quadrillion floating-point operations per second), which is expected to release a computing power of more than 2000P within this year. As a green and low-carbon data center, it can reduce about 45 million kWh of power consumption every year, helping promote sustainable development.

As an important computing power base of SenseCore, the AIDC will not only accelerate the innovation pace of SenseTime, but also provide surging computing power for industrial digital transformation, major scientific research breakthroughs, and smart city construction. In the future, SenseTime will continue to expand its AIDC's computing capabilities, and join hands with upstream and downstream partners in the industry to build an AI computing power industry ecosystem together.
