Seminar Background
On March 17, 2022, the Artificial Intelligence Computing Power Industry Ecological Alliance (ICPA) held the 4th Standardization Promotion Seminar online due to the needs of epidemic prevention. SenseTime took the lead in cooperation with the China Electronics Standardization Institute (hereinafter referred to as the “CESI”) to jointly promote the establishment of two association standards in the field of AI chips: Artificial Intelligence Chips — Test Indicators and Methods for Cloud-side Deep Learning Chips Used in Computer Vision Training and Artificial Intelligence Chips — Test Indicators and Methods for Cloud-side Deep Learning Chips Used in Computer Vision Inference. With the help of the ICPA platform, members of the alliance and key organizations in the industry have been invited to participate in the establishment of the two association standards.
Seminar Content
The standard drafting group has completed the exposure drafts of the Artificial Intelligence Chips — Test Indicators and Methods for Cloud-side Deep Learning Chips Used in Computer Vision Training (Project No.: CESA-2021-3-003) and the Artificial Intelligence Chips — Test Indicators and Methods for Cloud-side Deep Learning Chips Used in Computer Vision Inference (Project No.: CESA-2021-3-004). Public comment solicitation was completed on March 16. During this seminar, the participants discussed and confirmed the public comments and core indicators, and promoted the further refinement and improvement of the drafts.
Song Bowei from the CESI presided over the seminar, and related experts exchanged and shared their opinions. The seminar consisted of two sessions: training-themed in the morning and inference-themed in the afternoon. All participants conducted heated discussions on the comments solicited for the standards and the key content of the standards, and experts in the fields of standardization and related technologies gave detailed answers respectively, finally reaching a unified opinion.
Next Step
Next, the standard drafting group will update the standards based on the opinions of the participants in the seminar, and the verification work of the two standards are expected to be carried out from April to May 2022. The standards verification report will describe the actual testing and evaluation of the scientificity and rationality of the standard indicators, and constitute the basis for the examination and approval of the standards. The testing and verification work will also be one of the important contributions to the establishment of the standards. Organizations interested in participating in the verification are requested to contact the standard drafting group as soon as possible.
